Standria Achieves Highest BJC's

St. Paul's Methodist College recognizes and celebrates the achievements of Ms. Standria Moss, a former 9th grader, now 10th grader, who was recognised in Nassau on Thursday, 22 January, 2009 by the Ministry of Eduation for acheiving 7A's and 1B in the June 2008 BJC examinations. She was recognised for best results in the Private Schools and for the Family Islands. We are proud of Standris and wish her well. Congratulations!

BTCIC Mourns

The church family of the BTCIC mourns the death of two young men of our congregations, Lea Astwood Jr (BKA J. R.) of the Grand Turk Methodist Church and Brandon Harris of the Providenciales Church. They died in a car accident on Monday, January 12. The other two young men-members who were in the car, John Green "Daquan" and Robert are in critical condition and were sent to Florida. Please pray for them and the Astwood and Harris Families.

World Council of Churches-Opportunity for Our Youth

The World Council of Churches is having its Youth Stewradship Programme. Young adults aged 18-30 can now apply to participate in the Stewards program. The program from August 19-September 4, 2009 will consists of three main elements:
Ecumenical Leadership Training Seminar
Volunteering for the WCC Central Committee meeting
Ecumenical Project planning
Twenty-five participants will be selected from various countries and Christian confessions to deepen their knowledge of the ecumenical movement and commit themselves to work for Christian Unity in their own context. Stewards will help with the functioning of the Central Committee meeting which gathers about 150 church representatives. It will provide a space for ecumenical encounter, learning and discussion. Deadline for applications is March 31, 2009.

Micah Wins Competition

Micah Russell of the Andros Circuit won the Bahamas Primary Schools Speech Competition on November 18, 2008 in Nassau. Micah represented his school Nicholls Town Primary School as well the Andros Island Community in this competition. The BTCIC youths congratulate Micah on his win. Micah will later represent his school in the island's Spelling Bee Competition in the new year, 2009. We wish him all the very best.

Christmas Greetings!

The Youth celebrated Advent and Christmas in grand style as many hosted concerts, group parties, participated in Candlelight Services and Christmas morning worship. The children, youths and young adults wish all a Merry Christmas! Felix Navidad! Joyeaux Noel!
We pray that 2009 will bring you all success in Christ and many blessings.

MCCA YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WEEKEND

In celebration of the MCCA Youth and Young Lord's Day, the Andros Circuit will host a MCCA Youth and Young Adults Weekend. The weekend will begin with a Youth Leadership Training Seminar on Friday 14th November and the full participation of the Youth and Young Adults in the morning worship experiences in our congregations on Lord's Day, 16th November . Happy Youth and Young Adults Day to all our MCCA youth.

New Executive

The Mount Zion Methodist Church, Nicholls Town Youth Fellowship had its first election of officers on October 10, 2008. The new executive members are Mr. John Curry Jr.-President, Mr. Angelo Dorset-Vice President, Ms. Shaquille Bowleg-Secretary/Treasurer, and Ms. Danisha Bagot-Assistant Secretary/Assistant Treasurer. The elections was done by Rev. Mark Christmas, Superintendent Minister of the Andros Circuit. The BTCIC youth network wishes the new executive every blessing in the work of Christ's Church.
