St. Paul's Methodist College Participates in Invitational

A team of 10 students will participate in the North Andros High School Track and Field Invitational on Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14, 2009. The team looks forward to an excellent performance as they did in 2008. The girls and boys are looking forward to visit the island of Andros and to share with the young people through this meet. The entire BTCI Conference wishes them the very best in this Invitational.

Steak Out

The Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, MCCA will be hosting its first Steak Out on the church grounds on Fire Trail Road, Nassau, New Providence. This Steak Out will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be steak and chicken served with side dishes. The young people of that congregation will also entertain you in a 2009 fashion show. The cost is only BAH/USD 10.00. Go on out and support this congregation as they raise funds to erect their church buiding.

Lea and Brandon Laid to Rest

Two of our young Methodist men, Lea Astwood Jr. and Brandon Harris were laid to rest on Saturday, 31st January, 2009 in Grand Turk and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. We pay tribute to these young men who served God the best way they could. We commend them to the Lord. Our prayers continue to be with the families of Lea and Brandon. May their souls rest in perfect peace.

Youth Encuentro 2010

Plans for MCCA Youth Encuentro is on the way. Young People between the ages of 15-25 years are welcomed to register to participate in the 4th Youth Encuentro. This will be held in Trinidad from July 25th to August 2nd, 2010. Registration is US 650.00. First Registration is June 15, 2009 of USD150.00. The remaining amounts will be in October, 2009 and March, 2010. Kindly contact your circuit ministers if you are interested. Standria Achieves Highest BJC's

St. Paul's Methodist College recognizes and celebrates the achievements of Ms. Standria Moss, a former 9th grader, now 10th grader, who was recognised in Nassau on Thursday, 22 January, 2009 by the Ministry of Eduation for acheiving 7A's and 1B in the June 2008 BJC examinations. She was recognised for best results in the Private Schools and for the Family Islands. We are proud of Standris and wish her well. Congratulations!

BTCIC Mourns

The church family of the BTCIC mourns the death of two young men of our congregations, Lea Astwood Jr (BKA J. R.) of the Grand Turk Methodist Church and Brandon Harris of the Providenciales Church. They died in a car accident on Monday, January 12. The other two young men-members who were in the car, John Green "Daquan" and Robert are in critical condition and were sent to Florida. Please pray for them and the Astwood and Harris Families.

World Council of Churches-Opportunity for Our Youth

The World Council of Churches is having its Youth Stewradship Programme. Young adults aged 18-30 can now apply to participate in the Stewards program. The program from August 19-September 4, 2009 will consists of three main elements:
Ecumenical Leadership Training Seminar
Volunteering for the WCC Central Committee meeting
Ecumenical Project planning
Twenty-five participants will be selected from various countries and Christian confessions to deepen their knowledge of the ecumenical movement and commit themselves to work for Christian Unity in their own context. Stewards will help with the functioning of the Central Committee meeting which gathers about 150 church representatives. It will provide a space for ecumenical encounter, learning and discussion. Deadline for applications is March 31, 2009.
