Several months ago I knew that I was going as a delegate from the Andros Circuit to Children’s Summit in Nassau. I was eager about this trip.
On July 23rd Sister Johnique and I traveled to New Providence and when we got to the airport, we were greeted by Ms. Charlene Marshall, Summit Coordinator.
I was very excited to see the camp site and shocked that I had to sleep in dorms and not tents. I was looking forward to sleeping under the stars, but that was not to be the case. This did not bother me because I was determined to make the most of Children’s Summit, and that I did.
Every morning, at about five, we got up, and showered. I got up early each morning to make sure that I was in the shower before anyone else. You see, showers were limited, and I did not plan to be in a shower traffic jam. After taking our shower, we got breakfast and then participated in devotions.
In addition to devotions, we had lots of bible quizzes, games and lots to eat and drink. Friday was the best days!! An officer came in and spoke to us on peer pressure. That night was the highlight!! Kylon and I represented the Andros Circuit in the choral speaking competition and guess what? We won overall and we were the smallest circuit at the Summit. What an accomplishment! On Saturday, we went on a tour to Pirates of Nassau and the mall. Later there was a night of culture. It was very enjoyable because at the end there was a junkanoo rush out and we participated.
That night, I thought I was going to be in for a peaceful night, but rest was not on the minds of the other male participants. During the night, someone decided to decorate my face. When I woke I found my entire face pasted with toothpaste. When I saw myself I was in shock.
That same morning we went to church. After the service, it was time for departure, so we got our bags and we left the building. It was a great experience and I look forward to summit again.

Children Groups Formed.
Great things have begun to happen in the Circuits of our Bahamas/Turks and Caicos. We enjoy in hearing that two Children's groups have been formed in the Nassau Circuit. The Wesley Methodist Church, Malcolm Road has started its first Methodist Children's Fellowship and the Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd has started its first Children's Choir. We wish these two congregations the very best as they minister to the children.

Back to School
Most of our children are back to school today after a very long summer vacation. Some are being promoted to a higher grade while others are not. However, whatever grade it may be, we encourage our children to work very hard this school year. May God's blessings be with you.
We encourage all our teachers and wish them the very best in this school year as they play a major role in our children's lives. Parents be encouraging and supportive in our educational system, help your children and encourage them in their school work.
As a church throughout our Distrcit, Back to School Services are held. Some were held yesterday, August 30 while others will be held on Septmeber 6. We use these services to pray for our children and pleadge support to them as they go back to school.
"In our work and in our play,
Jesus, ever with us stay;
May we always always strive to be
True and faithful unto Thee.
Then we truthfully can sing:
'We are children of the King."
